Data processing information

Pursuant to Article 13 of the DIRECTIVE OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL (EU) 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation GDPR), the University of Szczecin informs that:

Database administrator

The administrator of your personal data is the University of Szczecin, based in Szczecin, Al. Papieża Jana Pawła II 22a, 70-453 Szczecin, e-mail: rektorat@usz.edu.pl.

Data Protection Officer (DPO)

The Administrator has appointed a Data Protection Officer whom you can contact by sending an email to: iod@usz.edu.pl. You can contact the DPO in all matters concerning the processing of your data by the University of Szczecin.

Purposes and legal basis of data processing

Your data will be processed in order to carry out the process of enrolment at the University of Szczecin and to fulfil the legal obligations of the University of Szczecin.

The basis for the processing of personal data is Article 6(1)(c). GDPR. The legal obligations of the University of Szczecin result from the Law on Higher Education and Science as well as executive acts and internal regulations of the University of Szczecin.

The legal basis for the processing of your data is also Article 6(1)(e) GDPR, the processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of the authority vested in the controller.

Your data may also be processed on the basis of Article 6(1)(f), i.e. the legitimate interest of the controller, which is the right to establish, assert and defend claims.

Data that are not required for the aforementioned purposes may be processed on the basis of Article 6(1)(a) - based on your consent.

Data retention period

Your personal data will be processed for the duration of the recruitment process and after its completion for 6 months. In the case of enrolment in accordance with the course of study. Thereafter, the data will be archived and stored for 50 years.

Your data may also be processed for the period necessary to establish, assert and defend claims.

Data recipients

Access to your personal data will be granted to authorized employees of the University of Szczecin, including members of the recruitment committees.

Recipients of your data may be entities entitled to receive them on the basis of concluded entrustment agreements.

Data processing rights

You have a right to:

  1. receive information about the processing of personal data and your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation GDPR,
  2. access the content of own data, correct them, and to receive a copy of them,
  3. erase personal data from the controller's files (unless further processing is necessary for the performance of a legal obligation as well as for the establishment, investigation or defence of claims),
  4. limit processing, of data portability, to object against processing - in cases and under conditions set out in the GDPR,
  5. make a complaint to the President of the Data Protection Authority, if one considers that the processing of one’s personal data violates the provisions of the law on personal data protection.

To claim your rights, it is necessary to submit a written request to the Data Protection Officer at the following address: the University of Szczecin, al. Papieża Jana Pawła II 31, 70-453 Szczecin or by writing an email to iod@usz.edu.pl.

Obligation to provide data and consequences of non-compliance

Providing personal data is voluntary, however, its processing by the University of Szczecin is necessary to carry out the recruitment process for studies realized by the University of Szczecin.
